Deep vibrant red with purple-blue highlights. Lovely fresh red fruit (raspberry) and refined oak with mocha and biscuity accents on the nose. Supple, fleshy palate with silky tannins, wonderful acidity and unobtrusive power. A delicate, fresh and crunchy style.

Une grande proprtion de Cabernet a constitué un avantage en 2011. Figeac figure par conséquent une fois de plus parmi les meilleurs achats à faire 2011 : fruité, dense, tanin croquant, finale de petits fruits rouges intense. Il a les proportions parfaites d'un classique et un excellent potentiel de garde. 2020 à 2030.

Medium ruby.  Aromas of blueberry, mint and white pepper are lifted by a bright floral element.  Juicy and intense, with the lively dark fruit and floral flavors currently showing more perfume than flesh.  The tannins here are very suave for the year.  Finishes clean and long, with lovely repeating floral nuances.

This lighter-bodied St.-Emilion exhibits an attractive dark plum/ruby color, no herbaceousness and an interesting bouquet of forest floor, black cherries and spice. A finesse-styled 2011 with good purity and no defects except the vintage’s lack of flesh, concentration and depth. Nevertheless, this is a good effort that should drink well in 2-3 years and last for 10-12.

This is very aromatic, with almond, berry and chocolate character. Full body with fine tannins and a chewy finish, but the tannins are soft and polished. Needs at least three to four years to soften even more. Try in 2018.

The plum and black cherry fruit has a floral edge, giving this version an elegant feel overall, while subtle tobacco, singed tea leaf and wood spice notes fill out the lengthy finish. This lovely wine has dropped serious muscle since the barrel tasting and is showing elegance and finesse that belies its age. Best from 2015 through 2025.

"Les maturités des cabernets étaient si bloquées en août que l'on commençait à imaginer un Figeac pur merlot!", se souvient Eric d'Aramont, qui signe son second millésime sans Thierry Manoncourt, décédé en août 2010. "Nous visons 45 hl/ha pour finir après un usage serré du tri optique à 38hl/ha. Il y a aura 65% de grand vin en 2011, contre 80% en 2010". Après un 2010 à 13,8° (un record Figeac), "2011 est au final assez classique dans les vins". L'échantillon, équilibré par trois tiers des deux cabernets et merlot, est ouvert en attaque, crémeux, avec une pointe d'austérité qui devrat se tendre encore par l'élevage, 100% fûts neufs. La finale très cabernet reste dans l'esprit épicé des 2010 sans chaleur.

Deep ruby. Ripe, aromatic nose of dark berries, licorice and flowers, complicated by a mineral nuance. Spice and pepper notes complement cassis and minerals on the palate, with a whiff of blood orange adding lift. This youthfully tight wine finishes long and firm but not dry.

Robe de belle profondeur, fruit rouge fin et frais associé à des notes de fin caramel. Bouche svelte, souple mais avec beaucoup de personnalité, tanin fin, allonge fraîche. Vin droit, sans lourdeur, d'une dimension moderée mais avec de la tension. Un vin classique et aristocratique, qui séduit sans imposer.

With equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the wine reached 13% alcohol. Aged in 100% new oak, forest floor, stone, red berry and leafy aromas open to a medium-bodied, tannic, red berry-dominated St. Emilion. There is some dryness in the kirsch finish. 88-90 Pts

An equal blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon picked from 6th September until the 27th September. It offers the estate’s typical Left Bank, leafy bouquet with touches of pencil lead inflecting the broody dark fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, rigid tannins on the entry. It is a little disjointed but the Cabernet appears to be ripe although the finish is a little austere and needs to develop more expressive Merlot. Maybe it will improve with bottle age? Black cherry crimson. Floral dark fruit on the nose and palate. Warm bricks too. A little medicinal. Pretty chewy but not tough like so many. Much more complete and well balanced. Freshness well integrated too. Well done! (JH)

A like the quality of the tannins in this with plenty of subtle berry and chocolate character. Full body, with a lovely acidity. Wonderful length to it. This is really pretty.
