The 2017 Dutruch Grand Poujeaux has a pastille-like bouquet with red cherries and a touch of orange zest. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, blackberry and raspberry fruit with a nicely proportioned finish that will just need a couple of years to absorb the oak. But it has length and a little more depth than some of the other Moulis wines tasted and so my score is a little higher than others.

With a higher than usual proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has bright acidity and an intense black currant flavor. Structured tannins form a backdrop to the bright fruitiness. Drink from 2022.

A tangy and medium fruity red with dark-berry, lemon and plum character. Medium body and a straightforward finish.

Nuanced and rich in expression, this is good quality, even if the tannins are rather overly astringent tannins at the very close of play, witch brings things to a halt rather sliding into touch. But there's a lovely juicy frame on the attack and through the mid palate, nicely balancing blackberry fruits with those firm tannins.
