Is Clerc-Milon the Pomerol of Pauillac? Recent vintages have been silky smooth, with abundant ripeness and round, opulent textures. Made from a blend of 40% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 1994 exhibits a fine dark ruby/purple color, and a forthright, intense nose of smoked nuts, jammy blackcurrants, and lavish wood. Sweet and succulent, with excellent concentration, this medium-bodied wine offers fat and fleshiness, as well as elegance and complexity. It should drink well when released and last for 12-15+ years.
