Dark ruby/purple-colored, with aromas of spice, black currants, vanillin, and berries, this medium-bodied wine reveals very good to excellent depth, fine overall balance, ripe tannin, and not a great deal of acidity. It should drink well for 8-10 years.

This wine has everything in its aromatics and attack, and very little at the back of the mouth - not a good sign for long-term aging. It possesses a dark ruby/purple color, and black currant fruit intermixed with smoke and weediness. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.

Chunky and closed. Wonderful wild cherry and berry aromas with bark undertones. Medium- to full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, sweet fruit finish. A serious wine. Best after 2001. 41,000 cases made.
