Vinous 88-91 / 100 byAntonio Gallonithe5/15/2018 The 2017 Les Fiefs de Lagrange is a very pretty, silky wine. Bright red-toned fruit and lifted floral notes give this attractive, mid-weight Saint-Julien its personality and overall feel. In 2017, the Fiefs is especially refined, not to mention absolutely delicious.
Vinous 84-86 / 100 byNeal Martinthe5/1/2018 The 2017 Les Fiefs de Lagrange, which is raised on 20% new French oak, was blended at the end of January. It has a simple, light, easy-going bouquet with blackberry and blueberry, perhaps just a little VA here? The palate is sweet on the entry with slightly “bony” tannin, lacking some cohesion and fruit intensity towards the finish. Hopefully this will improve during its élevage and gain more flesh for at the moment it is surpassed by recent vintages at this early stage.
Decanter.com 86 / 100 byJane Ansonthe4/25/2018 There's quite a bit of reduction on the nose here, and it's difficult to discern the fruit even after being open for 10-15 minutes. They suffered 50% loss to frost here, and the Fiefs has clearly struggled. There are some gentle black fruits on display, and soft fresh mint, but expect this to be an early drinker. Jamessuckling.com 89-90 / 100 byJames Sucklingthe4/6/2018 A juicy and fruity red with dark-berry and chocolate character. Some lemon undertones. Medium body and a tannic finish.
