Created in 2019 under the guidance of Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, this Bordeaux appellation wine offers a more immediate and enticing expression of the Angélus style while preserving its depth and complexity.

Sourced from carefully selected parcels in Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte-Colombe, on exceptional clay-limestone slopes, it benefits from the same precision-driven vinification as its prestigious elder borthers, crafted in the purpose-built Chai Carillon cellar. In keeping with the estate’s identity, its label proudly bears Angélus’ iconic bell, a symbol of rhythm and time. Tempo d’Angélus is designed for wine lovers seeking to experience Angélus’ expertise in an accessible yet elegant expression.

The 2023 vintage

In 2023, the clay-limestone Tempo terroirs find the full expression of their identity through the racy, aromatic and fresh Merlot, with notes of red fruit and flowers. The discreet presence of Cabernet Franc in the blend brings delicate notes of spice and black fruit and lifts the palate with its silky, velvety tannins

The 2023 Tempo d'Angélus is designed to be a less expensive cuvée, a weekend drinking Angelus to basically pop 'n pour, whereas No. 3 is more focused toward restaurants. It has plenty of fruit on the nose: raspberry and black cherries, just a hint of shoe polish. The palate is medium-bodied with a bright entry. Mainly black rather than red fruit, quite peppery and lively with a slightly rustic but enjoyable finish. Does the job it is designed for.

Racy fruit with hawthorn, rose hips, red berries and cherries. Linear, with a nice structure, but nothing heavy from the fruit flesh in the middle. Fine-grained, with medium body and a chewy but juicy finish. Needs two more years to allow the fruit tannins to round off. More bones than flesh this year. Drink after 2026.
