Based on 56% Semillon and 44% Sauvignon Blanc, aged in 12% new oak, the 2024 Château Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes comes from the older vines that exclusively went into the Suduiraut Sauternes. Bright lemon, a hint of gooseberry, mint, and chalky minerality all emerge from the glass, and it's a richer, slightly more lengthy, textured 2024 that's going to shine on the dinner table. I love its overall balance, and it's a versatile, outstanding white in the making.

Lots of depth, with minerals, cream, kiwis and nectarines. Quite pure and slightly flinty at this stage. Pretty concentrated, with a medium to full body and a textured, cohesive center palate. Round and intense, with lovely freshness and a long, chalky finish.

The 2024 Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Blanc Sec has a fresh nose with green apple, white peach and subtle chamomile scents that deliver great vigor and delineation. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with a keen line of acidity. Surprisingly strict and tensile, it has ample weight with a twist of lime and nettle on the finish. Very good potential.

The 2024 Grand Vin Blanc Sec Vieilles Vignes emerges from 45-year-old vines. Rich, textured and wonderfully deep, the Vieilles Vignes is seriously impressive. The 2024 is not quite as effusive as some earlier vintages, but that is probably a good thing for the long term. Readers will find a potent, deep white loaded with personality. Pear, marzipan, white flowers, mint and chamomile build into the deep, resonant finish. Floral notes and brisk acids resonate on the close.

Vieilles Vignes 2024 opens with a breezy touch of fennel, gentle and inviting, and leaves behind a subtle sweetness on the finish – something I’ve never encountered in any previous vintage. The vivid acidity of 2024 seems to lift this slightly round goddess onto her tiptoes, slipping her into crystal heels. She walks with the bold elegance of a Beijing street queen, catching the wind even on a casual stroll. Let the wine flow slowly across the palate, and the textures of propolis, white peach, and lotus-root powder soup unfold like woven silk. As you linger, white pepper and celery seeds leap and dance like bright musical notes, adding rhythm and pulse to every corner of your taste buds. Honestly, a wine this brilliant was never meant to be kept to yourself. My only advice? Find someone you adore and enjoy it together.

A blend of 56% Sémillon and 44% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2024 Blanc sec Vieilles Vignes reveals a floral, gently citrusy bouquet of acacia, white flowers and confit citrus. Medium to full-bodied, enveloping and fleshy, it has good depth at the core and is built around bright acids, concluding with a fresh, anise-inflected finish. This is a real effort.

C’est avant tout la finesse qui marque le bouquet de la cuvée Vieilles Vignes de Suduiraut. Il révèle de subtiles notes de fleurs blanches, respectivement de tilleul et de poires. Légèrement crémeux en attaque, le vin cumule ampleur et précision. De fins amers consolident son expression aromatique communément avec une acidité structurante. Un vin sapide, persistant et redemandant. A savourer à table, avec des poissons d’eau douce par exemple.  2027-2039

Bitter fennel, toasted almond and citrus peel on the opening, good depths, well structed, with white pear flesh and oyster shell salinity on the finish. Will benefit from a few years in bottle to emphasise the subtle complexities. 3.79 TA. 3.25 pH. 12% new oak. Old vines of 55 to 60 years old, fermented in oak in different sizes of barrels. 20% of overall production of dry whites.
