The 2021 Rayne-Vigneau is quite powerful and resonant in this vintage. There's a feeling of phenolic intensity that is almost reminiscent of a red wine, likely a result of very low yields in the field. Pineapple, dried flowers, coconut and tangerine peel are some of the many notes that grace the 2021, a compelling Rayne-Vigneau.

Pale to medium lemon-yellow colored, the 2021 de Rayne Vigneau soars from the glass with notes of lemon tart, fresh grapefruit, and lime cordial, plus suggestions of candied ginger, orange blossoms, and marzipan with a touch of chamomile tea. The palate shimmers with expressive citrus and mineral layers, framed by fantastic tension and a satiny texture, finishing very long. Residual sugar around 130 g/l.

As a chateau known for the freshness and elegance in the Sauternes appellation, Rayne Vigneau makes full use of the 2021 weather to highlight its fresh palate and clear structure. Though the fruity fragrances are not so rich and varied as in hot vintages, it still boasts well-layered spiciness of white pepper, licorice and Sichuan pepper.
