The 2023 Rauzan Gassies has a light, more tertiary nose that unequivocally misses the brightness and energy of its peers. It's not bad by any means, but there is no bandwidth, little personality. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, rather dry with a muddled finish, with the oak not in sync with the fruit.

A deep nose of sweet dark plums, roasted spices, ripe cassis and black cherries. Medium- to full-bodied with tight, fine-grained tannins and a compact, lengthy finish. A blend of 89% cabernet sauvignon and 11% merlot. Better in two more years.

The 2023 Château Rauzan-Gassies is deeply hued, with an impressively concentrated, balanced, medium-bodied style. It has ample upfront oak at this point, yet it’s balanced by solid red and black fruit as well as some classic Margaux spicy, floral nuances. Concentrated, rich, and textured, with ripe tannins, it's going to round into form nicely with just short-term bottle age.

Freshness, flowers, ripe, fruits, soft-tannins, and a relaxed approach work well here. The wine is medium-bodied, with vibrancy in the fruits, and lift in the currant, chocolate, espresso, and licorice-filled finish. Drink from 2028-2043. 91-93 Pts.

Ruby red in colour, this is a delicous Rauzan gassies, with finely boned tannins, clove and black pepper spice, raspberry fruits, olive pit, sage, plenty of graphite and slate, and a juicy approachability. 60% new oak for ageing, great stuff from the Quié family.

The 2023 Rauzan Gassies is deep, pliant and super-expressive, with terrific depth and fine balance. Soft, plush contours wrap around a core of red/purplish fruit, new leather, rose petal and spice. The 2023 is all charm.

Dark ruby, purple reflections, brightening on the rim. Dark berryish fruit with tobac- co undertones, fresh cherries, orange zest, subtle wood spice. Juicy, complex, a hint of dried fruit, round tannins, nutty touch in the finish, already approachable.
