Decanter.com 93 byGeorgina Hindlethe5/21/2025 Gorgeous aromas, vivid and deep. This has nice complexity from the start, lots of salty liquorice with dark cherry and blackcurrant. Clean and precise, quite serious in terms of fruit and structure - it’s straight but not lean but with a blue fruit, juicy acidity. There’s structure and persistence with grip and lift. It’s quite classical - black fruit, mint, aniseed. Well presented. A touch bitter - the acidity just coming through with a raciness but it’s well matched to the fruitiness. Good for ageing but also super approachable. Good quality. Éric Monneret director. 3.58pH. Ageing 12 months, 50% new oak, 50% one year.
The Wine Independent 91-93 byLisa Perrotti-Brownthe5/20/2025 Deep garnet-purple colored. Slowly emerges from the glass with notes of fresh blackberries and Bing cherries, giving way to hints of pencil shavings, wild thyme, and wet slate. The medium-bodied palate is soft and silky with delicate red and blackberry flavors and just enough freshness, finishing on a peppery note.
Jamessuckling.com 92-93 byJames Sucklingthe5/7/2025 Good depth of fruit, showing black cherries, fine herbs and walnut shells. Fine-grained with medium body and juicy fruit. Tannins are firm but polished. Nice length.
Vinous 90-92 byNeal Martinthe5/5/2025 The 2024 La Pointe has a deep colour and a comparatively powerful bouquet of opulent black and blueberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a structured opening. Graphite-tinged black fruit leads to a sapid and quite structured finish. This is a linear La Pointe that maybe just needs a little more sustain, but it should repay a couple of years in the cellar.
Vinous 91-93 byAntonio Gallonithe4/30/2025 The 2024 La Pointe is a very sexy Pomerol. Aromatic and silky, with lovely finesse, La Pointe is terrific. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, cedar and mocha are finely delineated in this mid-weight, vibrant 2024.
The Wine Cellar Insider 89-91 byJeff Levethe4/30/2025 Flowers and cherries come through easily in this medium-bodied charmer. The fruits are fresh, and vibrant, with zesty cherries, and red plums, with crispness, chocolate, and licorice in the red plum finish. Drink from 2027-2039.
Alexandre Ma 91-92 byAlexandre Mathe4/29/2025 Château La Pointe in 2024 carries a lightness and grace – almost like a bird resting gently in one’s hand. It doesn’t rely on bold aromatics or grand structure, yet it offers a quiet sense of balance throughout the tasting. Fresh on the palate, with supple tannins and a subtle touch of rose and raspberry, it naturally reflects both its terroir and the character of the vintage.
Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux 92 byJane Ansonthe4/25/2025 Sappy, juicy, deep ruby red colour, grilled cedar, sandalwood oak. A slow build through the palate, velvety tannins, coupled with salinity and juice, great quality in the vintage. Since 2023 owners Generalis also have Croque Michotte in St Emilion (not tasted). Harvest 23 September to 4 October.
