Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Poesia needs a swirl or two before it lets forth exuberant notes of blackberry pie and blueberry compote, opening out to a fragrant undercurrent of sandalwood, dried lavender, and crushed rocks with an exotic touch of cardamom. The medium- to full-bodied palate vibrates with energetic, muscular black-fruit layers, framed by firm, grainy tannins and a crisp line of freshness, finishing long and minerally. Very impressive! The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, with pH 3.40.

Coming from limestone soils in Saint-Emilion, the 2023 Château Poesia offers beautiful red fruits, graphite, chalky minerality, and floral, spicy nuances. It's medium-bodied, with a focused, layered, beautifully balanced mouthfeel, chalky tannins, and a great finish. This is another layered, seamless wine from this family that will evolve for two decades. Drink 2026-2045.

Just about equal, but different stylistically from Barde Haut, here you find a vivid display of flowers, oceanic nuances, espresso, mint, chocolate, and red fruits in the nose. The palate has great energy, supple, salt-crusted fruits that display purity and elegance. The wine is showing much better in the bottle than it did from barrel, which is always a good sign. This could be the best vintage of Poesia I have ever tasted! The wine blends 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2027-2047.

The 2023 Poesia is stellar, just as it was en primeur. Brisk mineral notes drive through a core of red cherry/plum fruit, white pepper, blood orange and exotic spice. I admire its energy, tension and power. The 2023 is all about balance. Limestone soils lend great saline intensity.

The 2023 Poesia is the best wine from Garçin-Lévêque this year. On the nose, there are perfumed redcurrant and red plum, fine underlying mineralité with more complexity than prior vintages as the vines age. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, quite spicy and peppery but with lovely grip and structure toward the finish that is driven by the Cabernet Franc. Excellent.

A plush, fruity nose of dark plums, mulberries, fine spices, graphite and dark minerals. Juicy and fleshy on the palate, with a medium to full body and round, dusty tannins. Long, complete and eclectic. Drink now or hold.

Milieu de bouche bien centré mettant en perspective un toucher tannique pulpeux, la suite offre une jolie matière avec de la profondeur et du style. Tout se joue sur la finale.

Ripe red and black fruits, spice, chalky minerality, and hints of flowers all define the 2023 Château Poesia, a charming, medium-bodied, forward, delicious 2023 that has supple tannins, beautiful balance, and considerable elegance.

Flowers, black raspberries, oceanic nuances, and just a hint of cocoa pops in the perfume. There is a vibrancy to the salty, red fruits on the palate, with a hint of orange citrus that adds to the complexity in the mildly, peppery, elegant, long, energetic finish. The wine blends 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Franc. 14.5% ABV, 3.4 pH. Drink from 2027-2047. 93-95 Pts.

Located near to Château Peby-Faugères, with plenty of natural concentration in these clay over limestone soils, and naturally low ph. In the glass this translates into cassis, liquorice root, anis, fennel, cocoa bean, slate, tight tannins. Needs skilful handling, which the team here has clearly done well, but be aware that it should be given a few years to soften. 9.5ha, with many young vines.

The 2023 Poesia is gorgeous. Bright acids and vibrant saline notes immediately confer energy. Crushed rocks, rose petal, mint, blood orange and pomegranate all run through this focused Saint-Émilion. This is a classic wine from the Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse sector, where acids remain very brisk. I admire the sculpted, nuanced style.

The 2023 Poesia was picked between September 25 and October 4 and matured in 50% to 60% new oak for 16 months. It has a plush bouquet with macerated black cherries, cassis and a touch of spice, becoming more floral with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with firm backbone. It’s grippy in the mouth, with good density and countervailing acidity, leading to a sinewy finish that will require three or four years to soften. This constitutes an assertive Poesia; there’s a bit of horsepower here, and barrel-maturation should just tame the tannins.

Excellent finish to this, with red berries and stones. Medium to full body with medium, round tannins that tighten down at the end. 3.4 pH and 14.5% alcohol. 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc.
