The 2015 Pédesclaux offers attractive red fruit laced with cedar, tobacco and autumn leaves on the nose, gently unfolding with aeration to reveal violet scents. The nicely balanced palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a fresh bead of acidity and a lilting tobacco and cedar infused finish. Very fine and one of the most approachable Pauillacs. Exuberant and rich with so much fruit and richness. Layered and almost exotic. Full-bodied, chewy and very dense. Structured and, at the same time, muscular. Needs four to five years to open.

The 2015 Pedesclaux is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot. It has a pure and fragrant bouquet with incense, violet and iris all permeating the dark cherry and boysenberry fruit. As I noted from my review in barrel, it is not a huge nor powerful Pauillac, but it offers a disarming silky smooth texture, crisp acidity and a rounded, caressing finish that implies it will be more approachable than other Pauillac wines. This is a finely made Pédesclaux to enjoy over the next 15 to 20 years. Anticipated maturity: 2020 - 2035.

The 2015 Pédesclaux is certainly a pleasant wine, although it offers only modest depth, structure and complexity. The dark cherry, leather and mocha flavors add to the wine's near and medium-term appeal, but I had hoped to see more depth. Overall, Pédesclaux is quite good, if a touch simple. The blend is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot

The 2015 Pedesclaux is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot that spent 18 months in barrel, 60% new and 40% one year old. Medium garnet-purple in color, it has an earthy nose with dried herbs and garrigue notes over a core of red currants and black berries plus a touch of cedar chest. The medium-bodied palate is fine and fresh with juicy red and black fruits and a chewy finish.

Direct, with a good beam of red currant and cherry preserve flavors lined with gentle singed vanilla and floral hints. There's freshness here, but a distinct lack of stuffing. Drink now through 2025. 15,833 cases made.  –JM

Currants and blueberries with hints of flowers and perfume. Stones, too. Full body, a dense center palate, layers of ripe tannins and citrus rind. Layered and structured. Plush. A very serious wine from this estate. Best ever? We will see. Try in 2022.

From an estate on the upswing, the 2015 Château Pédesclaux is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominated effort that includes a big chunk of Merlot (42%) and a small amount of Petit Verdot. It offers a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced and silky personality as well as top-notch notes of blackberries, dried flowers, and cedary spice. With fine, polished tannin, no hard edges, and impressive purity of fruit, drink it anytime over the coming two decades.

The 2015 Château Pédesclaux is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot, incidentally the first time that the latter has been used in the blend. It was picked form 18 September with the young Merlot and finished 26 October with the Cabernet Sauvignon at 50 hl/ha. It has a very pure bouquet with iodine-tinged blueberry and blackberry fruit, graceful and harmonious. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, precise in the mouth with perhaps the best tension that I have discerned in this rejuvenated Pauillac - one where a pretty penny has been spent, I might add. Granted, it is not a Pédesclaux with profound depth and I was anticipating greater "volume." That said, it is nicely proportioned and sure to age well, continuing the vigorous upward curve of this estate. One to watch.

The 2015 Pédesclaux comes across as quite understated and delicate. Although the aromatics are appealing, the 2015 lacks depth and personality. The limits of the vintage are evident here. The blend is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot.
