Very aromatic, the wine offers a complex palette revealing delicate aromas of vine flowers with fruity citrus notes such as grapefruit. Fresh and powerful, it combines roundness and amplitude, and lingers long on a beautiful minerality.

The 2023 Opalie offers one of the best aromatic profiles amongst almost two dozen dry Sauternes tasted this vintage. There’s a complex array of orange pith, wet stone and apple blossom on the nose that is beautifully defined. The palate is well balanced with a tangy entry, possessing judicious touches of orange rind and bitter lemon and a pithier finish than its peers. Excellent.
