The 2021 Vintage: 100pts by Colin Hay, The Drinks Business
In 2021, the January and February rains were followed by a dry season, leading to small shoots. Early flowering limited the harvest. The drought conditions produced small berries with excellent intensity, color, concentration, and acidic structure. The warm days in October allowed for uniform tannin ripening while preserving freshness.
Rich and concentrated, yet elegant and refined, the superb 2021 'Cœur de Vallée' offers a magnificent texture with incredible depth and density. Silky tannins provide a striking softness, culminating in a complete and balanced wine.
