Millonario rum 15 years 40 °

Bottle wrapped in a special hand-braided straw. Nose: Rich and warm, dominated by prune, caramel, tropical fruits with hints of chestnut honey, hazelnut and clove. Palate: Smooth attack but with a certain freshness. On a dominant spicy, we find all the fruity nose, as well as toffee, flamed banana and candied fig. The finish is long persistence on the mellow and a nice spicy tip.

Millonario rum 15 years 40 °

In 1904, in northern Peru, the Hacienda Agrícola de Chiclayo was founded in Chiclayo, a small settlement between the sea and the mountains known as the "city of friendship". Here, a group of peasants united to exchange their sugar and, to this end, they built, at the cost of great personal sacrifices, a small refinery. In 1922, the family of Peruvian landowners Piera de Castillo, directed by Don Rolando, bought the hacienda, the refinery and the vast sugarcane plantation of the Gutiérrez family. While there was a lot of raw material, the technology was basic. The lack of technical know-how meant that sugar cane and its full potential could not be fully exploited. The labor, from local residents around the hacienda, was also poorly prepared. In 1933, Don Rolando sends his eldest son Augusto to study chemical engineering at the University of Cambridge. During the summer of 1938, a ship destined for Peru left London, carrying the precious machine for sugar cylinders and for distillation a still Scottish column. Rum was the fruit of hard work, but as few people could afford to try it, it acquired the name "por los millonarios", in recognition of this exclusive club of individuals rich enough to buy the mind and enjoy its unique charm.
