The 2021 Meyney comes across as severe in feel, light and unusually compact. Cedar, mint, spice, iron and white pepper struggle to emerge. This needs more mid-palate depth and more of a delicate hand.

The 2021 Château Meyney is based on 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 12% Petit Verdot, and it's a solid 2021 with its redcurrant, cranberry, green tobacco, and cedar pencil aromas and flavors. It's medium-bodied, has a rather lean, focused texture, ripe tannins, and solid overall balance. A classy, more old school-inspired effort from this château, it has just enough ripeness to keep it interesting and enjoyable. I followed a bottle for multiple days, and it held up admirably. This is a classic drinker to enjoy over the coming decade or so.

The 2021 Meyney offers up notes of dark berries, dried fruits, undergrowth and toasty oak, followed by a medium-bodied, taut and somewhat astringent palate.

A refined and complex expression for the vintage with sweet red chili pepper, cassis, red plums, pencil shavings and a cedary edge. Medium to full body with silky, fine tannins and a lengthy, polished finish. An overachiever here that shows finesse and sophistication. Already a joy to drink now, but should age nicely in the next decade.

Shows a cedary grain that runs underneath gently steeped plum and black cherry notes, while warm earth and tobacco leaf elements run along the edges. Reveals a tangy, sanguine edge on the finish that exposes the vintage's telltale trim side, but this is pretty solid for fans of the old-school style. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2025 through 2032. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 14,377 cases made, 550 cases imported.  –JM

This wine has density and some firm tannins. A spectacular vineyard that faces the Gironde estuary, this estate gives a rich wine that needs some serious aging. Drink this wine, with its black-currant fruits and solid tannins from 2027.

A rather gruff wine with coarse edges and quite raw tannins, but there is fruit here, and it certainly tastes bright enough on the mid-palate. I imagine that there will be few problems ahead as this wine completes its élévage, and it will blossom into a medium-weight, cassis-style charmer. Meyney is starting to impress me, and in 2021 this property took another confident step forward. 16.5

A pretty wine with currant, cherry and some spices, such as nutmeg. Subtle this year. Medium body.

Il faut aller déguster le vin à la barrique pour le retrouver pleinement avec son magnifique fruit et sa texture large et sensuelle. Grand rapport qualité-prix à prévoir, comme d’habitude.

Compared to the other wines of Saint-Estèphe, the key to Meyney 2021’s success lies in its pristine fragrance of violet. Although it is not particularly concentrated, it does exhibit a refreshing juicy taste, with the sweetness of plum candy lingering on the finish. This is definitely one of the most elegant Saint-Estèphe wines in the vintage of 2021. ???Saint-Estèphe???,Meyney 2021?????????????????????????????,???????????,?????????????????,????Saint-Estèphe 2021??????????????

Dark red fruits, tobacco, spearmint, espresso, currants and cranberry on the nose. Forward, bright, medium-bodied, fresh and savory with an herbal, spiced edge on the mid-palate and in the chewy, peppery finish. The wine is produced from a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot. Drink from 2025-2040. 90-92
