The 2020 Mazeyres opens in the glass with aromas of minty berries, plums, petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, it's lively and sapid, with velvety tannins and a charming, perfumed profile. Incorporating a large percentage of Cabernet Franc and defined by sandy soils, this Pomerol estate is farmed organically and biodynamically.

Coming from some of the sandier soils in the appellation, the 2020 Château Mazeyres is perfumed and up-front, with a beautiful nose of ripe strawberries, framboise, spice, and flowers. It's not built around concentration or power but is ethereal, perfumed, complex, and medium-bodied, with soft tannins. It's as gulpable as they come and is a beautiful wine to drink over the coming decade.

Flowers, spice, red cherries, and red plums shine in the perfume. The wine is medium-bodied, soft, silky, and elegant, with freshness, refinement, and loads of spicy, fresh, vibrant red pit fruits with hints of strawberries, and pepper that comes in on the finish. Drink from 2024-2035.

Solid and centred showing notes of blackberries, cherries, mixed flowers and citrus fruit. In the background there are hints of aromatic herbs but also sour cherries and juicy cherries. Full bodied, smoothes and tasty showing quality and energy which manifests itself with lively impact. Better from 2025.

The 2020 Mazeyres is a gorgeous wine from Alan Mouiex. Beautifully layered in the glass, the 2020 possesses tremendous density and character. There's plenty of depth, but this is an especially perfumed style, driven in large part by expansive Franc aromatics. The long, persistent finish is quite striking.

The 2020 Mazeyres has a clean and pure bouquet, one of the more floral in style from Pomerol, red cherries commingling with wild strawberry and pressed rose petals. This is quite elegant. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins, well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, hints of white pepper and allspice emerging towards its satisfying finish. This is a classy Pomerol from Alain Moueix.

A fresher, lighter take on 2020 with clear tar and smoke character. Supple and well-textured raspberry, enjoyable overall, as ever with this wine less Pomerol signature than some of its siblings in the appelation but it is a good quality and enjyable wine. 30hl/ha yield, aged in a mix of barrels, larger oak casks, small concrete vats and amphora. First year with a touch of Petit Verdot in the blend. Certified organic and biodynamic.

Deep purple-black in color, the 2020 Mazeyres is a little closed to begin, soon unfurling to offer glimpses at boysenberry preserves, chocolate-covered cherries and baked plums scents, plus suggestions of damp soil, black truffles and cast-iron pan. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers mouth-filling black fruit preserves and loads of earthy accents, framed by soft, rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and mineral tinged. A very impressive showing this year from this certified organic and biodynamic vineyard, it should come in as an under-the-radar bargain for Pomerol fans.

« Sappy ruby red, this is unfussy and appealing, with soft raspberry fruits; A little underpowered compared to some, taking away its Pomerol signature, although it is an enjoyable wine with a smoky, gently peppery finish. A yield of 30hl/ha. Ageing in 54% in barrels and foudres 46% in small concrete vats and amphores. New addition of Petit Verdot is successful. Certified organic and biodynamic. »

The 2020 Mazeyres is bright, beautifully lifted and super-expressive. Bright red cherry/plum, spice, mint, blood orange and cinnamon are all deftly woven together in a wine that dazzles with superb purity and nuance. Strong Cabernet Franc inflections add tons of character. This is so nicely done.

The 2020 Château Mazeyres showed beautifully, with a ripe, voluptuous style carrying loads of black cherry and blueberry fruits as well as tobacco, graphite, and toasted spices. This big, rich, full-bodied Pomerol has wonderful purity of fruit, a stacked mid-palate, building tannins, and a solid sense of freshness, even though I suspect the acidity is quite low. It should shine right out of the gate yet still keep for 15-20 years.

The 2020 Mazeyres has a vibrant, almost citrus-fresh bouquet of vivid red cherries, crushed strawberry and rose petal scents, hints of blood orange emerging with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a light savory element on the entry and a fine bead of acidity. Black fruit takes over from red toward the finish, which has a granular texture. Full of character (as usual), Alain Moueix’s biodynamic Pomerol should give 12–15 years of drinking pleasure.

Silky, soft, ripe, polished and round, the wine offers juicy, black and red plums, cocoa, wet earth and forest notes. Medium-bodied and fresh, there is a nice sweetness to the fruits in the silky textured, cocoa infused, lush finish. 90-92

Superbe travail d'Alain Moueix depuis quelques années.

Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Biodynamisch erzeugt, klare Steigerungstendenz erkennbar.
