Terrific stuff, the 2019 Château Maucaillou has ample redcurrant and mulberry fruit as well as attractive floral, spicy, and leafy herb nuances. Nicely textured, medium-bodied, and balanced, it's a classic, up-front, undeniably delicious Moulis to drink over the coming 7-8 years, possibly a decade.

Offering up aromas of currants, plums, licorice and loamy soil, the 2019 Maucaillou is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with powdery tannins, tangy acids and a sweet core of fruit. While it needs a bit of time to run out, it's a creditable effort.

The 2019 Maucaillou is a very pretty, elegant and nuanced wine with lovely aromatic presence and fine balance. A wine of delicacy and understatement, the 2019 is super classy and impeccable. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry, mint. This is beautifully done.

After variable showings from barrel samples, the 2019 Maucaillou still needs to convince me of its credentials. The nose just feels rather muted and lacks fruit concentration. The palate is better, with slightly furry tannins, fine acidity, and black fruit mixed with graphite toward the finish. It’s just let down by the aromatics at the moment.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Maucaillou comes bounding out of the glass with exuberant notes of preserved plums, blueberry pie and raspberry tart plus hints of red roses, Darjeeling tea and cracked black pepper. Medium-bodied, the palate is soft, uncomplicated and pleasantly juicy with a soft texture and lively finish.

The 2019 Maucaillou is plump, juicy and very easy to like. I would prefer to drink this charming Moulis over the next few years, while the red and purplish berry fruit and floral rose petal and lavender notes remain fresh. Hints of chocolate, spice and mocha add an exotic flair without being too dominant. This is such an attractive wine.

The 2019 Maucaillou, tasted three times, the second half-bottle the better. This offers blackberry, briary and humidor scents on the refined, not intense nose. The palate is medium-bodied with dusty red fruit. I find that in one sample the oak was not quite enmeshed and another just lacked a bit of substance. I cannot help feeling that it could have been better.

Pourpre violacé. Bouquet invitant, agréable, révélant des notes de Moka et de baies noires. Touche de réglisse. Caractère friand et crémeux en bouche. Maucaillou est bien soutenu par des tanins aux grains fins. Il a du corps et une bonne expression aromatique, idéalement assurée par la fraicheur de sa structure. Un Maucaillou prometteur. 2024 - 2034.
