N°2 Maucaillou is the result of a rigorous selection from the Château Maucaillou parcels, and stands out for its balance between finesse and intensity. This characterful cuvée embodies all the expertise of the estate's teams in this exceptional Haut-Médoc, for lovers of elegant, distinguished wines.

The 2022 vintage: 

The winter of 2022 was cool and dry. Flowering began early in May and took place very quickly under clement weather conditions. The summer was hot and dry, with the exception of a few storms in June. These conditions made for a very early vintage, with grapes rich in sugar but with delayed phenolic ripeness. Perfect health but low yields. Gentle vinification without too much extraction to avoid releasing too much tannin. The wines are rich and very aromatic, with a good mid-palate supported by the freshness of the ripe Cabernets. Very good potential.

Tasting notes

With its ruby centre and purplish tints, N°2 Maucaillou 2022 reveals a complex nose where ripe black fruit blends harmoniously with subtle toasty notes. On the palate, it is both full-bodied and structured, with fine, silky tannins. The tasting ends on a fresh, elegantly spicy finish
