Margaux de Brane - Margaux 2020

The very essence of the Brane plateau and a model of the Margaux style, this wine comes from the property’s younger vines, planted on a sandier gravel terroir. Grapes from younger vines on the Brane ridge are also included in this blend.
“The quality of a terroir and of the work carried out by a team can be seen in the most accessible wines of the estate,” says Henri Lurton, who applies the same demanding standards to all his wines.
Margaux de Brane is distinguished by its silky texture, roundness and smoothness, which make it accessible and seductive, without compromise.
Perfect wine to be initiated into the great wines of Margaux. It suits simple and spontaneous occasions, as an accompaniment to intuitive cuisine or as an aperitif, thanks to its generous fruit.
Margaux de Brane is a serious wine, but one that does not take itself too seriously.

Medium-bodied, fresh, soft and fruity, with a sweetness to its core of currants and freshness too. This is a nice, uncomplicated, sapid wine that is perfect for ordering in a bistro or cafe. This is the new 3rd wine from Brane Cantenac. 2023-2030.

The 2020 Margaux de Brane is a plush, succulent Margaux to drink now and over the next handful of years. It's a gorgeous wine at this level. Spice, blood orange and mint give this mid-weight, open-knit 2020 tons of energy to play off its ripe, racy fruit.

The 2020 Margaux de Brane, which comes from the estate's youngest vines, has a generous kirsch and mulberry scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with notes of espresso and dark chocolate infusing the dark berry fruit. Fine acidity, slightly grainy in texture, for a third wine it has respectable weight and concentration on the off-dry finish. Worth seeking out.

This has aromas of blackberries, blackcurrant leaves, sage and graphite. Sliced orange too. Medium to full body, with firm, fine-grained tannins. Compact and savory. Better in 2025.
