The 2018 Connétable de Talbot has a fragrant bouquet with black cherries, blueberry and light crushed stone aromas. The oak is nicely integrated (15%). The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and plenty of freshness on the structured, graphite tinged finish. This is simply the best Connétable de Talbot that I have tasted.

The 2018 Connétable de Talbot is a gorgeous second wine. Soft, silky and beautifully perfumed, the 2018 is brimming with fruit. Best of all, it will drink well right out of the gate. The 2018 is an especially strong Connétable.

Mittleres Purpurviolett. Angenehme Frische inspiriert vom Cabernet Sauvignon Frischer und fruchtiger Auftakt. Am Gaumen ist der Wein ausgewogen und hat eine gute Fruchtintensität, auch von der Frische des Cabernet Sauvignon inspiriert! Die Tannine sind kompakt und verleihen einen angenehm süßen Touch am Gaumenende. Ein trinkanimierender Wein mit Charakter. 2022-2030

This is a little more marked by alcohol than you would expect from a second wine in St-Julien, something I have found across the AOC this year, which demonstrates how well these estates have handled their grand vins. This is rich on the palate, full of coffee bean and chocolate notes with black cherry fruit and a fairly weighty heft. Not hugely typical but full of enjoyment.
