Herbal and white fruit on the nose. A dollop of sweet lemon and pineapple gives this a fun and joyful aspect and something to counter the high acidity balancing the expression with power, charm and lift. This makes you smile and want another glass straight away. Some bitter grapefruit and orange aspects add complexity. Yum.

Races out with intense scents of lime juice, yuzu, and Granny Smith apples, plus fragrant hints of white blossoms and elderflower. Light-bodied, the palate has loads of zip and zing with great precision and balance, finishing long and steely.

I loved the 2024 Château Lespault-Martillac Blanc from this team. It's based on 70% Sauvignon and 30% Sémillon, brought up in one-third new barrels. Bright citrus, orange zest, and minty floral notes all shine on the nose. Medium-bodied, with integrated acidity and terrific balance, it has a clean, vibrant, mineral-laced style that will drink beautifully right out of the gate.

Sémillon drives the subtle nose of the 2024 Lespault-Martillac Blanc, with beeswax and yellow fruit unfolding. The palate is fresh on the entry with deft touches of ginger and white pepper, fine weight and a lingering finish. This is a textural Lespault with great potential that deserves two or three years in bottle.

The 2024 Lespault-Martillac Blanc is one of the best recent vintages I have tasted. Deep in texture, with fabulous balance, the 2024 is so impressive. Lemon confit, crushed flowers, chamomile and spice build nicely, but it is the wine's textural presence and persistence that are most attractive. Superb.

Vibrant, fresh, and fruity, the delivers loads of sweet, juicy pears, green apples, white pepper, and pineapple, with the sweetness of white peach that sneaks up on you in the finish. The wine blends 70%, old vine, Sauvignon Blanc with 30% Semillon. Drink from 2026-2032.
