Le Point 15,5 byJacques Dupontthe6/20/2018 Fruits rouges, fin, frais, demi-corps, beaucoup de finesse, juteux, délicat, tanins serrés, bien enrobés, tout en longueur, finale délicate.
Vinous 88-90 byAntonio Gallonithe5/15/2018 The 2017 Larrivaux is bold, plump and juicy, with plenty of personality. This attractive, rustic red has plenty to offer. The pomegranate, raspberry jam, menthol, licorice and savory notes are nicely pushed forward, while there is enough structure to give the wine a lovely sense of proportion. Look for Larrivaux to be a potential sleeper in 2017. Production is down 25%. Tasted two times.
Vinous 87-89 byNeal Martinthe5/1/2018 The 2017 Larrivaux, the property of Bérangère Tesseron, wife of Basile at Lafon-Rochet, offers blackberry and mulberry scents on the nose, just a hint of dried rose petals and iris. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly gritty tannin though there is good depth of fruit and a pleasant saline finish. Enjoy this Haut-Médoc over four to five years after bottling.
Wine Advocate 85-87 byLisa Perrotti-Brownthe4/27/2018 Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Larrivaux gives up blackberries, black cherries and mulberries on the nose with suggestions of violets and anise. The palate is medium-bodied, firm and grippy with a lively backbone and firm finish.
Jamessuckling.com 88-89 byJames Sucklingthe4/6/2018 A very fresh and linear Haut-Medoc that has some good vibrancy and fruit but falls a little short on the mid-palate.
