Lafaurie-Peyraguey, an epitome of excellence

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, a storied wine estate, covers 18.5 hectares of vineyards situated on elevated terrain just outside the village of Bommes, in the heart of the Sauternes region. The ancient stones and extensive archives of the château testify to a rich history spanning eight centuries. In 2014, Silvio Denz, owner of the prestigious Lalique crystalware company, acquired this iconic Sauternes property.

The dry white wine of Lafaurie Peyraguey is a powerful, mineral, concentrated, lively fine wine, with a pure expression of fruit.

The lightly hued 2023 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey Blanc is bright and racy, with gorgeous crushed citrus, tart pineapple, and honeyed mint-like aromas that flow to a medium-bodied, concentrated, yet absolutely racy white that stays tight and compact on the palate while still bringing considerable depth and richness. It's beautifully balanced, has high acidity, and terrific length. Depending on how the acidity comes together, it might rank with the top whites in the vintage.

Lemongrass, white peaches, lemon rind, and flowers create the complex aromatics here. Vibrant, crisp, and citrusy, with a touch of crushed stone, adding complexity, this is good-to-go on release. The wine blends 60% Sauvignon Blanc, with 40% Semillon. Drink from 2025-2032. 92 Pts.
