A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, and 1% Carménère aged 18 months in 50% new barrels, the 2023 Château Kirwan is a solid Margaux with a deep purple hue and a juicy nose of red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with smoky tobacco, minty herbs, and spicy wood. On the palate, it's pretty, balanced, and elegant, already offering plenty of pleasure yet built to evolve gracefully. I love its purity of fruit. Drink 2030-2050.

The 2023 Kirwan turned out beautifully. Aromatic and poised, this mid-weight Margaux has a ton to offer. Crushed flowers, vibrant red-toned fruit, blood orange, cedar, mint and licorice are beautifully lifted. The 2023 is so classy and refined.

Bottled in June 2025, the 2023 Kirwan was cropped at a generous 50hl/ha, matured in 50% new oak for 21 months. It has a clean, unpretentious but well-defined bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and iodine scents that remain just a little backward, a bit reticent at the moment. The palate is framed by very fine tannins, crisp black fruit laced with black pepper. I admire the symmetry of this Kirwan and the precision that defined the finish. This is a Margaux not to be overlooked.

Solid, showing fine spices, white pepper and a touch of minerals to the fresh cassis and berries. Cohesive and almost chalky, with medium body and a long, linear finish. Juicy, precise and pristine. 65% cabernet sauvignon, 23% merlot, 5% cabernet franc, 6% petit verdot and 1% carmenere. Will age well in the next 10 to 15 years. Drink or hold.

Kirwan 2023 offenbart sich elegant und subtil mit Noten von schwarzen Beeren bzw. Holunder, dann Himbeeren und Kirschen, ergänzt durch einen Hauch von Kräuter, Anis und süßen Gewürzen. Alles in allem recht komplex! Kirwan ist von guter Dichte, verfügt über feine, kräftige Tannine und eine Säurestruktur, die Temperament und Frische verleiht, vor allem im Finale. Ein präziser, schmackhafter, saftiger und anhaltender Wein! Sehr gelungen.

Another brilliant wine from Margaux, the 2023 Château Kirwan reveals a deep blue/purple hue to go with a nicely oaked profile of ripe black fruits, leafy herbs, iron, violets, and spice. It's balanced, medium to full-bodied, has a supple, layered mouthfeel, remarkable purity, and a great finish. As with most 2023s, it's going to shine with just a few years of bottle age.

The 2023 Kirwan is dense, resonant and impeccably balanced. Succulent dark cherry, plum, licorice, menthol, spice and lavender are all dialed up in this decidedly intense Margaux. Kirwan packs quite the punch, but it is also neatly proportioned, not to mention incredibly delicious.

The 2023 Kirwan was tasted from two bottles as I was unhappy with the first. The second has a ripe red cherry and crushed strawberry nose that almost feels as if there is a touch of carbonic maceration! The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine structure, lightly spiced with a crisp and focused finish. Quite opulent in style, it is not a cerebral Margaux, though it has plenty of exuberance.

Dark ruby, purple reflections, brightening on the rim. Fine wild berryish fruit, fresh cherries, notes of light nougat and orange zest. Medium body, red berryish and fresh, some marzipan, lemony and mineral touch in the finish, a subtle food wine.
