Hauts du Tertre - Margaux 2023
Château du Tertre, a timeless elegance
Château du Tertre is located on one of the highest gravel ridges in the Médoc. Its history began in the 18th century with Pierre Mitchell, an Irish merchant who fell in love with the Bordeaux region and its wines. As the founder of Bordeaux's first glassworks, he fulfilled one of his dearest dreams by creating his own vineyard estate. Other famous families followed in his footsteps, including the Albada Jelgersma family, who purchased the estate in 1997 and made significant investments to allow this Grand Cru Classé of 1855 to express all of its elegance.
In March 2021, the Helfrich family took over to write a new chapter in the history of Château du Tertre. The family shares the same quest of excellence, which is a tradition in motion.
Les Hauts du Tertre is the second wine of the estate. Benefiting from the same standards as its older sibling, it comes from a parcel selection of the younger vines.

Tasting notes
Les Hauts du Tertre 2023 is faithful to its style, full of plump fruit and deliciously approachable. This is achieved with a blend of crisp, juicy Merlots and delicate, suave Cabernet Francs. A generous proportion of Petit Verdot brings depth and tonicity. These all complement the dense, distinguished Cabernet Sauvignons that provide freshness, tension and length. This is a “vin de plaisir”, generous and accessible, fit for all occasions.
