The 2023 Haut-Marbuzet has a lively, fresh and vibrant bouquet that springs from the glass. Well-defined with blackberry, cedar and wild strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with vivacious red cherry and strawberry notes, quite smooth in texture with veins of blue fruit surfacing toward the finish. Good potential and a quite lovely Saint-Estèphe.

Ripe but tense, with blackberries, fine sweet spices, minerals, graphite and some red fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, with tight, taut tannins and a long, rather elastic finish. It goes on and on. A blend of 50% merlot, 45% cabernet sauvignon, 3% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot. Drink or hold.

Haut-Marbuzet offenbart sich auf subtile Weise durch blumige und fruchtige Nuancen, die mit Reifungsnoten gekoppelt sind. Der Wein hat eine gute Dichte und schafft eine Verbindung zwischen seiner Frische und der Kraft, die von feinkörnigen Tanninen verliehen wird. Die strukturierende Säure wirkt im Hintergrund und verleiht dem Wein Präzision und Temperament. Ein charaktervoller Wein, der vor allem auf Finesse setzt… denn die Kraft ist sozusagen "geschenkt"!

Haut Marbuzet (St-Estèphe; 50% Merlot; 45% Cabernet Sauvignon; 3% Petit Verdot; 2% Cabernet Franc; 13.5% alcohol). Plump, plush and seductive, just as it should be. There’s always something rather reassuring about Haut Marbuzet and it doesn’t disappoint here. Indeed, it’s another rather floral expression of St Estèphe in this vintage with crushed petals, peonies, pollen and violet accompanying the deep berry fruits. Soft and, again, plump and rich on the palate with very fine-grained tannins, this is excellent. The oak is already very well absorbed and this is a finer and more refined and elegant wine than in recent vintages. A great success.

Supple, fresh, and juicy, the wine is vibrant, fruity, soft, creamy, and loaded with sweet, ripe, black cherries, pepper, chocolate, and herbs. There is good length, and energy, with blackberries, espresso, dark chocolate, spice, and currants in the finish. Drink from 2028-2045. 92-94 Pts

There are increasingly few truly old school independent St Estèphes, making Haut-Marbuzet an outlier to celebrate. The tannic build up starts pretty quickly, as they lean into the rich but slightly austere tannins of the vintage, giving balance by savoury raspberry bud, fragrant tomato leaf and cassis fruits. Cocoa bean and espresso come through from the mid palate, with lift on the finish. 100% new oak for ageing, estate today run by Bruno and Hughes Duboscq, with father Henri still very much involved.

The 2023 Haut-Marbuzet is terrific. Dark, vibrant and quite virile in its expression, the 2023 Haut-Marbuzet has so much to offer. Plum, blood orange, pomegranate, spice and new leather are some of the notes that leap from the glass. Today, the 2023 is quite primary in its intensity, yet all the elements are very nicely balanced. This is a fine showing.

The 2023 Haut-Marbuzet has a refined bouquet that is more understated than a typical wine from this estate, displaying blackberry, raspberry and light pressed flower scents. An underlying tertiary note surfaces with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and focused, with fine-boned tannins and a pretty, poised finish that conveys a sense of class. Very fine. This may well end up at the top of my banded score.

Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Delicate notes of nougat, black cherry, floral touch, a hint of cassis underneath. Juicy, com- plex, ripe plum, ripe tannins, mineral on the finish, a well-balanced, old-school food companion.

Always one of the Médoc's most sensual wines, the 2023 Haut-Marbuzet wafts from the glass with aromas of dark berries, cassis and cherries mingled with cigar wrapper in violets, revealing little trace of its maturation in new barrels. Medium to full-bodied, supple and layered, it's deep and seamless, with an enveloping core of juicy, fleshy fruit framed by sweet, melting tannin. It's a blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.

This is super-refined and polished with a lot of depth and richness, offering a mix of blueberry and deep dark chocolate that adds up to its captivating character. It shows impressive intensity and length, achieving a harmony that is both beautiful and elegant. The tannins are already well integrated. Long finish.
