Vinous

The 2019 Guiraud did not really make an impression from barrel. Re-tasted in bottle, it has a simple but flattering bouquet of lemon curd, white chocolate, saffron and touches of orange blossom; not complex, yet you cannot deny its purity. The palate is balanced with fine depth, though missing just a little complexity and tension. Very harmonious on the finish, but it lacks weight and density. Guiraud can make some of the best Sauternes, but not in this particular year.
