The 2015 Goulée is a blend of 77% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc, cropped at 52 hectoliters per hectare and matured in 30% new oak. There is a noticeable marine influence that tinctures the black fruit here, pleasant lift from the glass, if missing the complexity of other vintages that I have tasted at this early juncture. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, moderate depth, just a touch of powdered dark chocolate sprinkled over the black fruit. It just feels a little simplistic on the finish and I suspect that it will be an early-drinking 2015. Drink 2018-2023

The 2015 Goulée by Cos d'Estournel is plump, juicy and delicious. This Merlot-based blend delivers lovely intensity and radiance. The 2015 will be a delicious, early drinking wine. Sweet red cherry, raspberry and cinnamon grace the soft caressing finish. Over the last few years, the presence of Merlot has gone up in the Goulée. Tasted two times.

Barrel Sample. Round and smooth with rich blackberry fruits that are soft and gentle in character. It is a wine that is open and likely to age quickly. There is just enough freshness to give it a lift at the end. 89 points

77 % Merlot, 19 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 4 % Cabernet Franc. Tiefes Purpur, satt in der Mitte, Granatschimmer am Rand. Kompottiger Beginn, rote, gekochte Pflaumen, vermischt mit Zwetschgen, also ist da was Dropsiges dabei. Im Gaumen scheint er bereits als Fassprobe ein Schmeichler sein zu wollen. Macht Spass, ist aber auch irgendwie langweilig. Mal sehen, was er dann in der Flasche bringt. 17/20 2019 – 2034
