While the La Fleur Peyrabon 2019 delivers a blooming and flourishing profile, its 2021 En Primeurs is showcasing elegance and freshness. Countering the classic masculine style of Pauillac, its sweet and fresh flavors do take me by surprise. Seeping my taste buds are the soft tannins, as if putting your hands in a pair of cashmere gloves. The 2021 La Fleur Peyrabon was tasted twice. The first felt out of sorts. The second was much better, offering graphite-infused black fruit, a good midpalate and a straightforward, licorice-tinged finish. This should drink well for 8–12 years.
