The second wine from Pavie, the Aromes de Pavie (70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon) vaguely resembles its bigger sibling. Dense ruby/purple in color, with notes of toasty oak, the wine doesn’t have the power, mid-palate, texture or depth of the Pavie, but it shows good spice, earth, vanillin, and red and black fruits. This medium-bodied wine does have surprising aging potential for a second wine and should evolve for 10-15 years. 88+ points. Drink: 2015 - 2030
