The hot and dry 2019 vintage matches perfectly Faugères' typical rich style. Crumbled blueberries and cherry kirsch are accompanied by rich toasted aroma and spices, and the whole wine glass is decorated with great magnificence. But the most outstanding character of Faugères 2019 is not the intensity, but its clear and exquisite fruit aroma hidden in the body, with which the whole body becomes light and smooth. ???2019???Faugères????????????????????????????????,??????????????Faugères 2019??????????,?????????????????????,???,??????????????

A full-bodied red with fine tannins and plenty of plum, milk-chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s creamy and attractively textured. Rather flamboyant for the vintage. Generous and formed. Drink after 2024.

I always love this wine, and the 2019 Château Faugères is no exception. A big, pleasure-bent beauty, it's loaded with darker, chocolaty fruit as well as leafy herbs and some classic Saint-Emilion chalkiness and rocky mineral notes. More spice, tobacco, and leather notes emerge with time in the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a plush, sexy, rounded texture, no hard edges, and a great finish. It's a beautiful Saint-Emilion to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years.

The 2019 Faugères is a full-bodied, brutally extracted wine that exhibits a somewhat lactic nose of rich black fruits, berry liqueur and new oak. Mouthpuckeringly tannic, it lacks charm or generosity despite its heady levels of ripeness.

The 2019 Faugères is one of the most elegant wines I have ever tasted from Silvio Denz's Saint-Émilion estate. Silky, aromatic and super-expressive, Faugères is absolutely exquisite. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, dried flowers and cinnamon are some of the many nuances that open in the glass. There is plenty of the textural richness readers have come to expect over the years, but the 2019 is less over the top than some previous vintages. And that's a good thing.

As I wrote a couple of years back, the 2019 Faugères is ripe and opulent on the nose, lacking the delineation of the best Saint-Émilion wines, hedonistic but needing more complexity. The palate is better, with sappy red berry fruit and touches of white pepper and clove. If the nose can improve, then this will match the palate and be a fine 2019.

The 2019 Faugères has a very deep garnet-purple color. It delivers initial notes of Marmite toast, baked plums and black truffles, soon giving way to smoked meats, blackberry pie and peppered salami hints. Full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with black fruit preserves and savory layers, featuring a firm, grainy frame and invigorating freshness, finishing long and earthy.

The 2019 Faugères is fabulous. Inky dark fruit, graphite, crushed rocks, menthol, sweet French oak, lavender and blueberry jam infuse the 2019 with myriad layers of complexity and dimension. In the glass, the 2019 is sweet and unctuous, not to mention incredibly deep. This is an especially flamboyant style; it works so well here.

Coming from vines on the eastern side of the appellation, the 2019 Château Faugeres is a Merlot-dominated cuvée that includes small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. This is an incredibly consistent château, and the 2019 is beautifully done, revealing a saturated purple color, a great nose of blackberries, blueberries, violets, toasted spices, and candied orange, full body, and a plush, super rich, textured mouthfeel that keeps you coming back to the glass. Despite being a big, rich wine, it shows the lively, weightless style that's that hallmark of the vintage.

The 2019 Faugères has an upfront, very opulent bouquet that is more akin to the Peby-Faugères. I would like the fruit to be toned down a bit as it diminishes its precision. The palate is sweet and candied with plush red fruit mixed with blood orange and sour cherries, a touch of graphite towards the finish. Fine, but I was expecting a bit more nobility.

Very tight and finely tannined with a compact palate and loads of blue-fruit and blackberry character. It’s full-bodied, but muscular and focused, to pull it into form.

Dark in color, the wine is packed with round, fat fruits, licorice and soft tannins. The mid-palate and endnotes come with a ripe, sweet, fruity finish that carries on nicely. This wine is forward in style and should be great to enjoy close to its release. The wine was made from a blend of 70% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon. 91-93 Pts
