How can we define the style of Branaire Ducru ? The first word that comes to mind is, finesse and elegance.

Patrick Maroteaux, François-Xavier’s father, considered the wines he produced were made for pleasure. The drinkability was key to him. "As wine producers, our greatest delight is giving Bordeaux wine lovers a lot of enjoyment" as he said.
Today, François-Xavier Maroteaux (owner) and Jean-Dominique Videau (Director and Winemaker)  share this same vision and wish the wines they produce to keep the specific style that comes from this superb terroir of Saint-Julien. 

Independently of the attachment that we can bear to this property and the people who embody it, we are convinced that the quality of the wines of Branaire Ducru is unbeatable at this price level.

The wine offers more fun than its elder brother. It is louder, while remaining faithful to the house signature and seeking excellence and purity.

2020 - Tasting notes

The nose, pure and precise, quickly opens with aeration, offering a beautiful range of black and red fruit aromas.
A beautiful volume on the palate, unfurls gently and finishes with a persistent aromatic freshness.
The structure, slightly tight at first, quickly melts with aeration. The tasting ends with a fine, elegant finish.
