How can we define the style of Branaire Ducru ? The first word that comes to mind is, finesse and elegance.

Patrick Maroteaux, François-Xavier’s father, considered the wines he produced were made for pleasure. The drinkability was key to him. "As wine producers, our greatest delight is giving Bordeaux wine lovers a lot of enjoyment" as he said.
Today, François-Xavier Maroteaux (owner) and Jean-Dominique Videau (Director and Winemaker) share this same vision and wish the wines they produce to keep the specific style that comes from this superb terroir of Saint-Julien.

Independently of the attachment that we can bear to this property and the people who embody it, we are convinced that the quality of the wines of Branaire Ducru is unbeatable at this price level.

The wine offers more fun than its elder brother. It is louder, while remaining faithful to the house signature and seeking excellence and purity.

2019 - Tasting notes

The nose of this 2019 Duluc de Branaire-Ducru opens quickly with aeration.
It delivers a beautiful black and red fruits complexity, enhanced by spicy notes and a lightly minty hint. The palate shows a nice roundness. Fleshy and soft it develops a precise and pure fruit aromatic. A very nice and lingering finish with delicate tanins and a beautiful fresh length.

Plenty of savory fruit with tobacco and chocolate. Medium body. Creamy, fine texture. Juicy and delicious already. Blend of 52.5% cabernet sauvignon, 44% merlot, 2.5% petit verdot and 1% cabernet franc.
