There is a coarse and slightly unripe note to the fruit that suggests it was a couple of days away from being complete but fell short of the mark. This is made more evident by the heavy-handed use of spicy oak. It looks rather old-fashioned when it was close to succeeding where so many neighbouring properties have failed. 15.5

The scent of Dauzac 2021 is pleasing, with aromas of prune sugar, flower cake, and plum surrounded by light aromas of clove and bay leaf. All are fragrances not often seen in the 2021 vintage, mind you. The palate is light at the beginning, but the tannins are slightly "temperamental" at the mid-late stage. The 2021 Dauzac is terrific. Rich, layered and persistent in the glass, the 2021 exudes balance. There's less opulence than in some recent years, but that's not a bad thing. If anything, Dauzac gains a bit of finesse in 2021. Sweet floral and spice notes linger on the classy, polished finish.

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. Feinduftige, dunkelfruchtige Nase, dezente Rauchnoten. Im Gaumen frisch, kräftig, jedoch präzis, der Wein hat einen mittleren Körper, die Struktur ist sehr gut, die Tannine sind von ausgezeichneter Qualität, knackige Frucht, ungemein viel Schwung und Rasse, im Abgang mit rotfruchtigen Aromen und einem floralen Touch. Avec un nez élégant, frais et énergique, Dauzac 2021 offre une trame florale très intéressante et de très belles notes de fruits noirs (cassis, mure et cerise noire). Toucher de bouche velouté, presque crémeux, avec une structure cristalline et de très beaux tanins satinés qui enrobent l'ensemble. Densité moyenne et parfaite maturité. Voici un très beau vin qui pourra tenir 10 à 20 ans, sans souci. Bravo !

The 2021 Dauzac shows promise, exhibiting aromas of dark berries and plums mingled with spices, petals and a deft touch of creamy oak. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, it's quite rich and muscular but also—and judiciously—a touch less extracted than recent vintages at this address.

Fragranced and nuanced on the nose with savoury touches, a lovely combination of ripe red and black fruits - cherries and bramble fruits with dark chocolate, liquorice and graphite touches. It's ample and generous and there is some glamour, but doesn't quite have the weight for the follow through at the moment. Lightly framed, good succulence, tension and precision but lacking a little depth. Definitely more linear and straight right now. Clear tobacco and coffee touches with mint too on the finish too. Feels sculpted with nice elements but will be good to age and round out.
