Blackcurrants, spices and blueberries with some lead pencil on the nose. Medium body with fine tannins that are polished and pretty. Nice finish. Not the most structured 2019, but very attractive and well crafted. Drink after 2025.

The ruby/purple-hued 2019 Château Croizet-Bages has a solid perfume of red and black currants, sappy tobacco, and cedar pencil to go with a medium-bodied, balanced, elegant, slightly herbal style on the palate. It's not a blockbuster, but it has good balance, ripe and present tannins, and a fresh, lively, nicely concentrated style that will benefit from just 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15 years.

Aromas of earthy cassis fruit, undergrowth and cigar wrapper introduce the 2019 Croizet-Bages, a medium to full-bodied, supple wine with a delicate core of fruit, powdery tannins and lively acids. It's a somewhat simple, cleanly made wine that will likely flesh out with a few years in bottle.

The 2019 Croizet-Bages is a dark, fleshy Pauillac. Black cherry, plum, new leather, licorice, tobacco and smoke give this hearty, medium to full-bodied wine a good deal of complexity. There are some rough edges, but also plenty to like. Croizet-Bages is a wine of substance that will blossom at the dinner table.

The 2019 Croizet-Bages has a straightforward nose of blackberry, cedar and light touches of mint and camphor; the oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied and quite smooth, although the oak feels a little dominant toward the finish. It seems to drift, missing a bit of focus and grip, so that after it has departed, you soon forget about it. Frustratingly, this Pauillac falls short of my predictions from barrel.

Displaying a deep garnet-purple color, the 2019 Croizet-Bages comes skipping out of the glass with bright, cheery notes of Morello cherries, black raspberries, redcurrant jelly and cassis plus hints of chocolate mint and wild thyme. Medium to full-bodied, the palate really packs a wallop of vibrant fruit, supported by firm, grainy tannins and loads of zing, finishing on a lingering minty note. Yum!

The 2019 Croizet-Bages was picked from 18 September to 10 October and will mature for 12 months in 50% new oak. It is high-toned on the nose with bold blackberry and boysenberry fruit, though it doesn't have the complexity of the best Pauillac in this vintage. Hold on a minute though, because the palate compensates with some lovely graphite-tinged black fruit, fine tannins and a harmonious, classic Pauillac finish. Overall, not bad at all.

Lots of blueberry, chocolate and burnt-orange character. It's full-bodied and tannic. Intense and muscular. One of the best in a long time.

A lovely sappy, savoury character to the fruit, with softly expressed blackberry and raspberry. Smoked cedar and black pepper add interest and depth, with exotic spices showing traces of the warm summer, and there is a good kick through the finish. Medium-term drinking. Drinking Window 2026 - 2038
