Slate, chalk, mint and white pepper drive through a core of citrus-inflected fruit. Couhins Blanc is one of the finest dry whites of the year. If recent past vintages are any indication, it should also be a steal.

Quite zesty, and lively on the palate, the wine is packed with freshly squeezed lemon juice drizzled over green apples, with just a splash of spicy, pineapples in the endnote. This should be ready-to-go on release. The wine blends 94% Sauvignon Blanc with 6% Sauvignon Gris. Drink from 2027-2034.

Que de jeunesse, de définition et de profondeur dans ce vin. D’entrée, il annonce de lagrandeur, de l’authenticité. Il ne cherche pas l’exubérance, l’opportunisme, il se concentre surl’essentiel : le terroir et les cépages s’y trouvant. La pluralité mène le vin. Celui-ci ne fait queconcrétiser l’excellent travail accompli à Couhins lors des dernières années. Un vin percutant,vibrant, sautillant, fascinant, impressionnant. C’est pour ma part certainement un des plus grands vins blancs de Bordeaux qu’il m’a été donné de goûter.
