Confidences de Prieuré-Lichine:
Founded in the 15th century by Benedictine monks, Château Prieuré-Lichine embodies a rich history of tradition and innovation. In 1951, Alexis Lichine, "the pope of wine," took possession of the estate, modernizing it by expanding the vineyard and restoring the facilities.
Today, owned by the Ballande group, the estate spans 80 hectares across five communes in the Margaux appellation and boasts a state-of-the-art winery.
Confidences de Prieuré-Lichine, the second wine of the estate, perfectly embodies this rich history. Made from younger vines, it is crafted with the same care as the flagship wine, offering a friendly and accessible experience for wine enthusiasts. This wine charms with its roundness and complexity, reflecting the excellence of the Margaux terroir while remaining true to the spirit of openness established by Alexis Lichine.
The 2023 Vintage:
The 2023 vintage, capricious and challenging, eventually calmed down under the intense summer heat, revealing dense, mature, and balanced berries. The Cabernet Sauvignons take center stage, impressing with their power, refinement, and a menthol touch.
It delights with its smooth, enveloping texture, offering an elegant and balanced experience. Its round, integrated tannins create a harmonious structure. This pleasure wine, fresh and crunchy, is both indulgent and vibrant, ideal for a convivial tasting. True to Margaux's identity, it is crafted with precision and serves as an accessible entry into the world of Grand Cru Classé wines.
