Cognac VSOP Experience - Pierre Lecat - 40 °
The creation of the house goes back 80 years when the grandfather of the current co-owner Jean-Luc Lassoudière returns to Charente to rebuild the family farm and replant vines. In the 70s the farm began to produce eaux-de-vie with a quality and consistency that allowed it to supply large houses, while maintaining a stock of eaux-de-vie in its own cellars. Pierre Lecat, father-in-law of Jean-Luc Lassoudière, and Horloger very renowned in the region is the inspiration of the House. When the farm needs money for growth, it helps it financially. It allows the extension of vine surfaces and the constitution of the first stocks of brandy. Today Hélène Lassoudière, cellar master, is part of the generation of this know-how. Pierre Lecat is considered "The watchmaker of Cognac", and for good reason: the Vineyard, located in Fins Bois, is raised in Reasoned Agriculture, carefully selected grapes and distilled on the lees. The blend is made from exceptionally long-lasting eaux-de-vie on each of the qualities. At the end of the assembly, the cognacs undergo a final maturation in casks of 400 liters for a period of one year to provide a final balance. Finally the assemblies are reduced to 40 ° in 4 or 5 successive reductions spread over a period of one year.
