Red plums, cherries, violets, and spice all make an appearance in the 2021 Clos Vieux Taillefer, a 100% Merlot from more sandy, gravelly soils in Pomerol. Aging in 40% new barrels, it's medium-bodied, has supple tannins, good overall balance, and the fresher style of the vintage.

The 2021 Clos Vieux Taillefer offers candied orange peel and sweet red fruit on the nose, which is missing some Pomerol DNA. The palate is ripe on the entry, but then there is a green element that jars on the finish.

Offene, feinduftige Nase, reife Frucht, eher dunkle Aromatik. Cremiger Gaumen, rund im Auftakt, wird dann immer straffer, frisch, mit herben Tanninen und einer lebhaften Säure.
