The 2014 Clos Lunelles is quite powerful and tannic, with good energy but also slightly angular tannins. Super-ripe black cherries, smoke, plums, leather and herbs open up in a hearty, rustic wine to drink in its youth.

19 hl/ha. 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. 
Extremely deep crimson. Surely sweeter and more opulent than most Castillons. Almost soupy. Polished tannins but then greenish and drying on the end. I don’t understand why they don’t build more flesh on the finish.

Fruity, intense with dark berries, cocoa and black plum. A lovely wine that is great value at around 20 euros per bottle. Wonderful value with precise winemaking and focused intensity and good length. Well made wine from 100% limestone terroir. 2001 was the first vintage by the Perse family of this wine.
