Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Clos Floridene has a bright, expressive nose of redcurrant jelly, wild blueberries and mulberries with hints of tree bark, tilled soil and allspice. The medium-bodied plate is chock-full of black and red fruits, supported by chewy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing earthy.

The 2019 Clos Floridene has an appealing airy bouquet with dark cherries, bilberry and pressed iris aromas that gather momentum with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit. I find this very cohesive and well balanced, just a touch of spicebox coming through on the finish. As usual, I bet this is one of the best values once released.
