The 2014 Château La Tour Figeac is wild and vibrant, with a distinctly savory streak that gives the wine much of its character. Red cherries, smoke, incense and beguiling floral notes from the old-vine Cabernet Franc burst from the glass in a powerful, explosive St.-Emilion that has so much to offer. The 2014 is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc from a mix of limestone, clay and gravel-based soils. Christine Derenoncourt and Julien Lavenu are the consulting winemakers.

Sweet cherries, earth and stone with fresh picked flowers on the nose, this medium bodied wine has a soft, sweet, cherry finish. 88-90 Pts

The Château La Tour Figeac 2014, a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, has a nicely proportioned nose of dark berry fruit mixed with subtle floral scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little bitterness on the entry, but it feels fresh. It tapers in slightly toward the finish, but otherwise this is a fine La Tour Figeac.

Restrained and quite subtle with firm, supple tannins and dark fruits. Medium bodied red with modest length that will be best in 4 to 5 years.

Fragrant nose. Cabernet element evident. Soft and supple. A touch fluid but lift and firmness on the finish. Drink: 2019-2028 (87)

Dark crimson. Very floral nose. Sweet simple start. Easy fruity wine but not that ambitious. A little pinched on the end.

Excellent finish to this red with dark chocolate, berries, minerals and spices. Firm and silky tannins. Very fine indeed. Best in years.

17/20 2022 – 2039

Features a hefty core of plum, red licorice and cherry preserves, with a sleek coating of vanilla-accented toast carrying the finish. Solid.
