The 2015 Le Prieure was rather animally and feral on the nose, quite savory and gourmand in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet tannin, chewy and maybe just a little over-extracted because I was seeking more precision and detail on the finish. I would give this three years in bottle since there is the foundation of a fine Saint-Émilion. Anticipated maturity: 2021 - 2035.

The 2015 Le Prieuré offers is an attractive wine with good depth and plushness. In several recent tastings, the Le Prieuré has been quite reticent, with less of the finesse and nuance it showed from barrel. It will be interesting to see if the wine is just going through a phase. Even in this somewhat less expressive, monolithic state, the 2015 has fine balance as well as potential to develop into something more.

This has a broad layer of warmed fig and boysenberry puree flavors, framed by espresso and tobacco notes. Friendly and fleshy in feel, with a lingering loam echo and a nice sense of polish. Drink now through 2027. 1,449 cases made.  –JM

Inviting dark violets on the nose with a fresh earthy undercurrent and intense blueberries, cassis and blackberry fruits. Some orange peel, too. The palate’s silky, smooth, supple and seamless. Superb. Drink or hold.

The 2015 Château Le Prieure offers a rich, slightly rustic bouquet of dark fruits, chocolate, toasty oak, and earth, yet packs plenty of fruit and texture on the palate, with a straightforward style. It's not the most ethereal Saint-Emilion out there, but it has some charm, and I suspect will drink well for 7-8 years

This is an estate that I often feel should be far more celebrated - you just have to take a sip of this to see why. Gourmet and enticing, it is edged by coffee grains, smoky oak and tar. I love the striking fruit on this, with its saline finish, a salty edge that gives a beautiful lift to the silky blackberries. It will age for 20 years plus, really showing the potential of the vintage.

Nobles nuances de cacao sur fond de fruits noirs. Bouche réussie dans son équilibre, à la fois sur la fraîcheur et la maturité du fruit. La finale laisse une très jolie empreinte dynamique.

Easily the best vintage of Le Prieure ever produced, this wine shows a silky charm, freshness in its plum and black cherry core and soft tannins in the finish.

The 2015 Château Le Prieuré is more understated on the nose than its peers - gentle raspberry coulis and wild strawberry scents furnished a touch of fig. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin. There is a lucidity to this Saint Émilion, a brightness and vivacity, and it comes armed with plenty of energy and a finish that suggests a prosperous future. This is an excellent Château Le Prieuré from the Guichard family and I might head for this rather than their Pomerol, Vray Croix de Gay this year.

A powerful, authoritative wine, the 2015 Le Prieuré offers notable depth and nuance for such an intense wine. Leather, smoke, tobacco licorice, huge deep, intense and powerful, but also with remarkable detail. A wine of elegance Le Prieuré states its case with finesse rather than sheer power. Jean-Claude Berrouet now consults for Le Prieuré, which is owned by the Goldschmidt family and François Pinault's Artémis Group.

Bordeaux 2015 - St-Émilion and satellites | Articles | JancisRobinson.com Ripe, soft and juicy red fruit on the nose and palate. Not much in the way of complexity but the fruit quality carries the interest. Moderate length, medium tannic feel. Classic, conventional, drinkable. (RH) Drink 2018-2024

Couleur sombre, intense, belle, pourpre. Nez à la fois fruité, frais et mûr. Bouche suave, particulièrement fruitée, se développant parfumée et caressante vers une longue finale à peine tannique, mais au grain fin. L'élevage pourrait le révéler.

The walnut, spice and ripe berry character comes through clearly here with full body, medium tannins and a fresh finish.

A tasty wine in the making, with bright raspberry and plum sauce notes bouncing along, backed by dried anise accents and a warm fruitcake hint. Shows plenty of flesh without becoming heavy, featuring a finish that ripples pleasantly.—J.M.
