Wine Advocate 89 / 100 byNeal Martinthe10/28/2016 The 2014 Peyrabon has a ripe blueberry and creme de cassis-scented bouquet that has a touch of volatility. The palate is sweet and lush on the entry with plenty of black cherry and blueberry fruit, belying what feels like a firm structure underneath and renders the finish drier and more classic than expected. There is a lot going on here and I suspect it will age with style. Tasted September 2016.
Le Point 14 / 20 byJacques Dupontthe5/21/2015 Réglisse, bouche ample, tendue, épicée, assez riche, matière généreuse, un peu agressif en finale mais joli milieu de bouche. 9 €.
Vinous 86-89 / 100 byAntonio Gallonithe5/11/2015 An attractive mid-weight wine, the 2014 Peyrabon shows the more feminine side of the year. Flowers, sweet berries, orange peel and white pepper are all laced together in a decidedly perfumed, lifted Médoc.
Wine Advocate 88-90 / 100 byNeal Martinthe4/30/2015 The Château Peyrabon 2014 offers a broody, dark berry and tea-leaf bouquet that feels a little rustic vis-a-vis its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh, cedar-tinged entry. There is a mixture of red and black fruit here, with a nicely focused finish that makes up for the bashful bouquet. I like the style of this Peyrabon and it should be worth inquiring about once released.
Asian Palate 87 / 100 byJeannie Cho Lee MWthe4/20/2015 Vibrant, lifted flavors that are sweet and balanced with lovely cherry and plum. This is a delicious, great value red at only about 8 euros per bottle. An amazing wine from the Bernard family with Eric Boissenot as consultant. Majority is Cabernet Sauvignon.
Jancis Robinson 15,5 / 20 byJancis Robinsonthe4/17/2015 Pale crimson. Sweet fruit but pretty high acidity. A bit mean and austere. Drink 2019-2025 (15.5+)
