Chateau Maucaillou 2012 - Moulis
Château Maucaillou owes its name to the cadastral name of the land on which it was built in 1875. Its vineyard is part of the oldest soil of the Médoc. The soils of Château Maucaillou are made up of beautiful rugs of Quaternary alluvium, largely derived from the large Güntz garrisonous tablecloth, which is at the origin of the Grands Crus Classés of the Médoc. It occupies a privileged situation between Margaux and Saint Julien, in the commune of Moulis. Château Maucaillou was one of the rare "Bourgeois" wines to be admitted to the very closed circle of the Union of Grands Crus de Bordeaux, an association that intends to combine the best Bordeaux wines.
