This is broad and fleshy in feel, with smoldering tobacco, warm ganache and espresso notes that meld slowly into the core of steeped blackberry and black currant fruit. Shows a long tarry edge on the finish, with the fruit keeping pace. Rock-solid. Best from 2032 through 2035.

From an estate readers should watch going forward, the 2015 Château Marquis d'Alesme Becker from relatively new owner Marjolain De Coninck is impressive and offers lots of Cabernet Sauvignon blue fruits as well as ample toasty oak in a relatively modern style. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged in 65% new oak, it has a ripe, full-bodied, opulent mouthfeel, bright acidity, and a tight, concentrated personality that’s going to take time to come together. Give bottles 3-4 years and drink over the following 15-20. 93+

Deep in color with florals, black cherry liqueur, boysenberry and dark cocoa in the nose, this wine is rich, plump, full-bodied and voluptuous in texture with a wealth of ripe, sweet, fresh fruits and lush tannins in the mouth that really linger. The first vintage produced in the new cellars has elevated the estate to another level. Produced from 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the wine reached 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.6 and is aging in 65% new, French oak barrels. With a new showcase cellar and a commitment to quality with a spare-no-expense attitude, this is a wine to watch.

La qualité des installations techniques nouvelles a permis d’élaborer le plus racé des vins de l’histoire de ce cru. Admirable arôme floral, très grande précision dans le détail de la texture et du retour du tannin. Vin à marquer d’une pierre blanche.

The 2015 Marquis d'Alesme Becker is one of the best wines I have tasted from this resurgent estate in the heart of Margaux. Ample and inviting, the 2015 possesses superb richness throughout. There is plenty of tannin and underlying structure, but those elements are nicely balanced by the sheer luxuriousness of the fruit. Readers should expect a decidedly intense style. Everything falls into place effortlessly in this superb Marquis d'Alesme Becker from the Perrodo family and consulting winemaker Michel Rolland. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Tasted two times.

Very good expression of elegant floral fruit and real class from Cabernet Sauvignon. This estate continues the good form it reached in 2014. 2020-2032

Bordeaux 2015 - Margaux | Articles | JancisRobinson.com Dark purplish crimson. Headily floral on the nose. Quite lifted with notes that remind me of wasabi! A very interesting wine that is more transparent than most. Drink 2023-2035

Barrel Sample. Light and fruity in character, this is a crisp wine that is likely to develop quickly. It has plenty of black currant character, but lacks a firmer structure to support the fruit. 89 points

Aufgerundete Potentialwertung: 18/20 2024 – 2048

Dark and winey, with ample blueberry and kirsch fruit giving this a frankly modern feel. Shows excellent energy throughout, revealing a licorice snap edge on the finish and admirable depth and length. This will have a lot of fans when bottled.
