The 2016 Laroze felt a little overripe on the nose compared to its peers and lacked the same delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry but it felt a little monotone towards the finish. Pushed a little too much?

The 2016 Laroze is a bold wine that offers plenty of immediacy. Succulent dark red fruit, chocolate, spice, new leather and licorice give the 2016 much of its sumptuous personality. Readers should expect a concentrated, extracted style. Tasted two times.

Hubert de Boüard is consultant. 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. Dense dark purple. Fresh, aromatic Cabernet Franc sort of nose. Very fresh yet voluptuous. Really very exciting. Even if it seems almost approachable. 16.5+
