The 2017 Croix-Mouton has a strong hickory scents on the nose that rather obscures the terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy, quite dry tannin. This Bordeaux Supérieur falls away quickly towards the finish. I have encountered better Croix-Mouton vintages in recent years.

The 2017 Croix Mouton is deep garnet-purple colored and scented of dried herbs and mulberries with a plummy undercurrent and a touch of garrigue. The palate is very firm and chewy with a tart line and rather lean mid-palate, finishing on an herbal note.

Plush and rich ruby in colour, the nose is extremely well worked. Full of rich blackberry fruits, though they’re not quite carried through to the palate. Yet there is skilful winemaking here, and some enjoyable cassis notes, it just trails off at the close of play.
