Owned by Mathieu Cuvelier since 2013, this has rich, silky bilberry fruits and tight tannins. It's a little high in acidity but this places focus on the salinity that's evident on the finish. Clear potential.

Petits fruits noirs, prune rouge, ronce, quelques notes un peu chaudes. Jus croquant, belle acidité, séveux, tannins amples, finale longue.

Blending 80% Merlot , 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon , this wine is sweet, fresh, soft, medium bodied and crisp with a Sweetarts finish that offers both sweet red fruits with a hint of crispy, tart accents.

The 2016 Cote de Baleau has a lovely, very pretty bouquet with ebullient red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit with beautifully integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with precise, carefully placed tannin. There is fine focus here, just a touch of rigidity in the mouth, quite saline and spicy, a Saint Emilion that just needs a little (during élevage) to gain some more flesh.

Delicious layers of fig, boysenberry and blueberry fruit are starting to meld, while a graphite spine drives the finish. Ample licorice and sweet spice notes hang in the background. Ample raw material here and nearly fully integrated.—J.M.

A pretty young red with mineral and dark-berry character. Medium to full body and a juicy finish.

A 14.9ha property owned by Philippe and Matthieu Cevelier of Clos Fourtet, one of their fairly recent purchases of three properties. This has some clear black fruit flavours and lovely, controlled spicing. Very appetising , with the focus on minerality and salinity even though this is powerfully structured. Hugely promising. Planted to 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drinking Window 2023 - 2038
